Ellen F. Lingreen

Ellen F. Lingreen, 91, of Fort Dodge passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Bickford Cottages. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and then a Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016 at the funeral home, with a C.D. of A. Rosary at 5:00 p.m. Ellen is survived by her daughters, JoEllen Dudycha and her husband John of Edina, MN; Margaret Lingreen and her husband, Matt Erickson of Postville; IA; grandsons, Nicholas Erickson and Jon (Jodi) Erickson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ellen (McMahon) Brennan; and husband, William Lingreen, in 1984. Ellen Frances Brennan was born November 13, 1924 in Webster County. She graduated from Corpus Christi High School, in 1942. She began teaching and attended Drake University at the same time. She received her graduate teaching degree from Drake. On New Year's Eve in 1943, Ellen was united in marriage to William Lingreen Jr. After William's return from service in WWII, the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. She taught in the Webster County rural schools and Fort Dodge area public schools, for over 40 years retiring in 1984. Ellen was very creative, artistic, and enjoyed painting. Ellen cherished her beloved trips to Ireland throughout her adult life. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and Webster County Retired Teachers.
