Elsie Swanson

Elsie M. Swanson, 95, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at Fort Dodge Health and Rehab. Elsie's wishes were to be cremated and private memorial services are planned for a later date. Elsie is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Tim) Ruebel of Moorland; grandchildren, Stacey (Rob) Zaabel; Justin (Lindsay) Ruebel; great-grandchildren, Chaise; Kenyia; Lane Ruebel; sisters, Dorothy Babain of Tennessee; Cristelle Essig of Fort Dodge and Marlene Garman of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Edith (Blake) Stewart; husband, Raymond in 2002; brothers, Siebert; Don; Ernest "Bud"; Earl Stewart; sisters, Fern Whannell; Gladys Stewart; and Lois Dorothy. Elsie Mae Stewart was born December 14, 1922 in Callendar. She was a graduate of Moorland High School. She then attended Brunel School of Cosmetology. She worked as a hairdresser at various salons; notably, Younkers. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, jig-saw puzzles and raising her chickens. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
