Elvin Roland Waugh was born May 31, 1944, in Creston. He graduated in Sheridan, MO in 1962. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and after his service, was honorably discharged in 1968. After returning to Fort Dodge, he was briefly employed by the railroad and then in 1970, began working for the Fort Dodge Labs. He retired after 34 years there. On June 31, 1995, he was united in marriage to Jo Smith in Fort Dodge. The couple made their home in Dayton. Elvin was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and splitting wood for his wood burner. He always looked forward to his yearly fishing trips to Canada with his buddies, deer season in southern Iowa, and being the keeper of the tv remote. Elvin will be deeply missed by his family. The deer in the timber who survived Elvin’s yearly deer tags and live on, will not.
