Gowrie- Ervin Buske, 85 passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Pearl Valley Rehab and Nursing, Gowrie. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church, Gowrie with Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Lizard Township, Palmer, IA. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion Petersen Post #431 of Gowrie. Friends may call after 9:00 am Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church. Palmer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ervin is survived by his partner, Jo Ann Jensen of 27 years of Gowrie; sons, Brian (Lisa) Buske of Gilmore City, Blake Buske of Farnhamville, Paul Buske of Rochester, MN, and Kent Buske of Farnhamville; grandsons, Kory Burnell, Jacob Rice, and Andy (Michelle) Buske and great grandchildren, Kayden and Abigale; and sisters, Darlene (Roy) Thompson and Luella Ruby (Lee Phillips). He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ann, Anna, William, Frederick, Henry, Arthur, Gerd, Earl, Richard, Irene, Ida, Margie, and Edna. Ervin Buske, the son of William and Ida (Julius) Buske, was born January 27, 1933 at Lizard Lake near Gilmore City, IA. He grew up on the family farm with his 7 brothers and 8 sisters. He received his education at the Lake #8 Country School near Palmer and graduated from Manson High School. He served in the U.S. Navy as a CB from 1952 to 1956. He was united in marriage to Dee Nelson. He operated East Side radiator shop in Pocahontas. He was co-owner and President of Buske Industries Mfg. in Gowrie for 36 years. He also operated the Antique Trading Post in Gowrie and in his retirement, enjoyed buying and selling antiques at antique shows. He had several rental properties in Fort Dodge. In his free time, he enjoyed playing his accordion and spending time at his cabin at Blackhawk Lake in Lake View. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
