Etta J. McLeod, 72 of Fort Dodge passed away Friday July 2, 2021 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, July 9, 2021 at Harvest Baptist Church with Pastor Marvin Smith officiating. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Etta is survived by her children Michael (Yolanda) Presswood of Belleville, IL, Frederick Presswood of Fort Dodge and Latasha Jones of Des Moines; grandchildren, LaShirley, Laquandreya, Miqual, Myleesha, Michael Jr., Chelsi, Angeleise, and Kevion; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Ayanna, Makari, Emmary and Harlem; a granddog; siblings, Robert Presswood, Eugene Presswood, Johnnie (Jeannie) Presswood, Claree Presswood and Merdine Presswood all of Fort Dodge, Florence Brown of Franklinton, NC; aunts, Hannah Bell of Des Moines, Carrie Dubose, Callie Jackson and Mary Alice Clark all of York, AL; uncle Joseph (Callie) Presswood of Fort Dodge; many special cousins and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Maudine (Douglas) Presswood: husband, Ira McLeod: son, Roderick McLeod: and siblings, Lonnie Presswood and Margie Presswood, and two infant brothers. Etta J. McLeod was born January 17, 1949 in Electric Mills, MS. She went to school in Scooba, MS. After school, she joined Job Corps. In 1971, she was united in marriage to Ira McLeod and the couple made their home in Mobile, AL. She became a homemaker. In 1992, the family moved to Fort Dodge. She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church for over 20 years. Etta loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and having lunch with friends. She loved her family and will be missed by many. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
