Evelyn Faye Tiernan

Evelyn F. Tiernan, 78, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Dillinger, officiating. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:00 to 1:30 at the funeral home. Survivors include her daughters, Colesta (Terry) Duran of Craig, CO; Kelly Eggers (Mark Carlson) of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Terry, Damian, Adam, Jacob, Samantha, Dillon, and Stephon; great-grandchildren, Zane, Orion, Dagan, Joslynn, Titan, Sylus, Carter, Emmett, and Kade; sisters, Lorraine Collins of Carrollton, GA; and Sandra Miller of Stanhope. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Neva (Philp) Hanson; husband, Jack Tiernan in 1998; her daughter, Theresa Segreto; and infant brother and infant sister; brothers, Mervin Hanson and Dale Hanson. Evelyn Faye Hanson was born on February 2, 1938, in rural Stanhope. She attended schools there and graduated from Stanhope High School. Shortly after her education she moved to Fort Dodge; where she was employed with Quaker Oats for 10 years until it's closing. On December 26, 1959, she was united in marriage to Jack D. Tiernan at Corpus Christi Church. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. In April of 1969, Evelyn began working in the Webster County Clerk's office, retiring after 30 years. She continued to live in Fort Dodge; helping care for her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
