Evelyn Meinen

Evelyn J. Meinen, 92, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at Fort Dodge Health and Rehab. No services are planned at this time. Evelyn is survived by her husband Jay Meinen of Fort Dodge, sons John (Gayle) Meinen of Indianapolis, IN and Jeffery Meinen of Fort Dodge; grandchildren Jordan and Hannah (Gabe) Sachs. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Evelyn Jean Brisbois was born November 5, 1929 to John and Gladys (Richmond) Brisbois in Fonda, IA. She was raised and educated in Fonda and graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. In 1960, Evelyn moved to Fort Dodge and worked at Trinity Regional Hospital. She was united in marriage to Jay Meinen on February 10, 1962 in Fort Dodge. The couple established there home and lived in Fort Dodge until moving to Storm Lake in 1974. Shortly after, the couple moved to Denison. Evelyn worked as a sales associate for Alco for almost 8 years and then worked for Kasperbauer Laundry & Dry Cleaners until her retirement in 1994. After her husband retired in 1996, the couple moved back to Fort Dodge. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
