Fawn E. Borer

Gowrie Fawn E. Borer 94, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Pearl Valley Rehab & Nursing in Gowrie. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie, with Pastor Susan Rohden officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the funeral home until service time. Burial of casket will be at Gowrie Township Cemetery. Fawn is survived by her sons, Stephen (Betty) Borer of Nebraska City, NE and Gary Borer of Annandale, MN; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; sister Star Havard of Gowrie; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Borer; her parents, Stephen and Emma (Gilland) Ergish; sister Ivis Daniel; granddaughter Crystal Shankles; and longtime companion Malte Hanson. Fawn E. Ergish Borer was born May 22, 1924 in Gowrie, Iowa. Fawn was raised and educated in Gowrie. On May 23, 1942 she was united in marriage to Wayne Borer in Gowrie and two sons were born to this union, Stephen and Gary. Wayne passed away in 1948. Fawn worked in the restaurant and bar business for many years. She retired in 1986 after working at Caseys for several years. Fawn was a member of the United Methodist Church, Gowrie.
