Fayma L. Vande Stouwe, 81, of Fort Dodge, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Austin Hill officiating. Burial will be at a later date. A visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Fayma is survived by her children, Scott (Deb Hovde) Vande Stouwe; Todd Vande Stouwe; Colette (Russ) Clark, all of Fort Dodge; Karine (Steve) Robinson of Dallas, TX; and grandson, Drew Vande Stouwe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon Koontz and Jessie Davis Kennedy; husband, Dwayne in 2004; and brother, Budd Koontz. Fayma Koontz was born July 10, 1932 in Larimor, Iowa. As a young child, she moved to Webster City with her family. After graduating Webster City High School, she then received her teaching certificate from Webster City's junior college. Fayma taught in country school and later moved to Hull, Iowa which is where she continued teaching at the Hull School Systems. On July 5, 1953, she was united in marriage to Dwayne VandeStowe in Webster City. They established their home in Hull; later they lived in Atlantic, Boone, Vermillion, S.D. and Sioux City. In 1976, they moved to Fort Dodge, and Fayma was employed at the Apple Orchard and was secretary at Hospice for several years. She was a member of the garden club, art guild, Deacon at First Presbyterian, a hospice caretaker and volunteer, Christian Bible Study, and Elizabeth Circle. Memorials may be left to First Presbyterian Church and Unity Point Hospice.
