Floyd “Skip” Hansen Jr., 79, of Fort Dodge passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
A Celebration of Life will be 12:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Skip is survived by his children, Sheila Hansen and Steve (Barb) Hansen all of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Hunter Hansen of Fort Dodge, Drew Hansen of Des Moines and Chance Main of Fort Dodge; siblings, Mike Hansen of Sioux City, Gail Halverson and Lynne Hansen both of Badger, Terry Raymond of Humboldt, Carla Lucart, Dondi Hansen and Wendy Corn all of Sioux City; and sister-in-law, Georgie Froyd of Mesa, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd “Buzz”, Sr. and Betty (Todd) Hansen; wife, Sherryl Hansen; siblings, Tina Hansen, Pam Matthews, and Karen Faye; mother and father-in-law, George and Bonnie Frank; sister-in-law, Sandra Vinson, and brothers-in-law, Donald Frank and Johnny Frank.
Floyd Andrew Hansen, Jr. was born August 25, 1944 in Fort Dodge. He attended area schools and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. He was united in marriage to Sherryl Frank on September 3, 1965 and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. He began working for Iowa Beef and even became president of the Iowa Beef union. He also was a roofer for a period of time. Skip loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed going on rides through the park with his wife Sherryl. Spending time with his family and grandkids was very important to him. Floyd’s faith was a big part of his life and he was a lifelong member of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
