Francesca Bloom

Francesca "Fran" M. Bloom, 85, of Fort Dodge, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021 at the Villa Cottages. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Francesca is survived by her children, Rich (Chris) Bloom and Frank (Kim) Bloom both of Fort Dodge and Merle (Sue) Bloom of Twin Lakes; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a step-sister, Anna of NJ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Antonette (Suoczo) Carlidge; husband, Richard Bloom in 2018; son, Louis "Chip" Copenhaver; grandson, Christopher Copenhaver; and siblings, Mildred, Vincent, Josey, Rudolph, and Rosalee. Francesca Maria Carlidge was born July 4, 1936 in Long Branch, NJ. She attended area schools and graduated from high school in Long Branch, NJ. She was united in marriage to Richard Bloom on October 9, 1966 and in 1974, the family moved to Fort Dodge. She retired from WalMart in 2016 after 22 years of being a cashier. She enjoyed doing her sister's hair when they were younger. She played piano and loved to garden. She also loved bowling. Fran was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts but most of all loved her children and all of her grandchildren very much. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
