Farnhamville - Freddie E. Vote, 83, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.
A public visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday September 16, 2024, at Laufersweiler’s Palmer & Sons Funeral Home in Gowrie. Private family services officiated by Pastor Kay Christie to follow the visitation. Graveside services will be Reading Township Cemetery, Farnhamville, with Military Rites by American Legion Post #510.
Fred is survived by his wife Sharlene; son’s, Jared (Stacey) Vote of Boone, and Mitch (Jenny) Vote of Paton; grandchildren, Brenna, Austin (Sabrynn Ulrich), and Landon; great grandchild, Vaeda; sister, Dorothy Jean Holloway of Ames; and his brother, Bill (Elosie) Vote of Farnhamville.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Eula Mae (Tullis) Vote, and his sister Ruth Ann Burnell.
Freddie E. Vote was born on June 2, 1941, in Rinard Iowa. He attended schools in the area. After he graduated high school, he served in the US Navy for 4 years. Fred was united in marriage with Sharlene Wolfe. The couple established their home in the Slifer area and farmed all their life. He was a member of First United Church and the American Legion Post #510, both of Farnhamville. He loved to fish and work in his shop.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
