Fredrick "Ted" Taylor, 83, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Simpson Health Center, Friendship Haven. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Jennifer Owen-Osheim, Friendship Haven Chaplain officiating. Burial will follow at Callender Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Fredrick is survived by his children, Steve Taylor of Duncombe; daughter, Sheila (Tom) Jondle of Callender; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; siblings Dorothy Jensen of Fort Dodge and Beverly Porter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane; parents, Oscar and Jessie (Bailey) Taylor; son, Ted; siblings, Veronica Vinchattle; Maxine Helvick; Eugene Taylor; Larry Taylor and Richard Taylor. Fredrick L. Taylor was born June 14, 1935 in Fort Dodge. He was raised in Fort Dodge. In 1952, he was united in marriage to Jane Surber, the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Ted went to work for Tobin Packing Company and worked at the plant for over 30 years. In 1982, he retired from Hormel Meat Packing Company. Fredrick was a member of the Union Local 31. Ted also enjoyed raising hunting dogs and horses. He was an excellent cook, especially with a smoker. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
