Gary Dale Evans

Gary D. Evans, 77, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. A Celebration of Gary's Life will be held on Saturday, September 16th, 2023, at 12:00 PM at the Bob Heun Shelter House at Kennedy Memorial Park, with Military Honors by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family. Survivors include his wife of 56 years Ruth, sons Devon (Donita) Evans of Fort Dodge, David Evans of Fort Dodge, daughters Julie Mulder of Jefferson, Kyle (Amy) Evans of Sioux City, Jaime (Keith) Colt of Akron, IA, 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 7 siblings, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Dena (Fox) Evans, and 5 siblings. Gary Dale Evans was born on January 8, 1946, in Lehigh. Following his education, he served in the U.S. Army. On December 31, 1966, he was united in marriage to Ruth Richards. Gary was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed playing cribbage, fishing, riding horses, and truly had fun on his trips to the casinos. Gary was an accomplished wood worker and spent many years building custom cabinets.
