Gary G. Winch, 80, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Somsen, officiating. Gary is survived by his wife, Rita; grandson, Joseph Winch of Fort Dodge; granddaughter, Joelle Lizer of Fort Dodge; great grandson, Dakota Jo Winch; brothers, Ronald of Stillwater, MN; Bradley of Fawnskin, CA; and sister, Penny Winslow of Edina, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Lucille (Meyer) Winch and son, Randy in 2008. Gary was born November 28, 1936 in Elkader, Iowa. He was raised in educated in Elkader and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1954. One June 28, 1964, Gary was united in marriage to Rita Stoltz, the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Gary worked for Sears for 30 years, retiring in 1994. At an early age, Gary had an interest in photography. His interest for photography came to surface in 1979 and he established his photography business and exhibited his passion for nature and wildlife photography. He had won many awards over the years and has been published in several newspapers and magazines. For many years, Gary taught photography at ICCC. He enjoyed donating photography to help with community fundraisers. He was a member of the Camera Club. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
