Gayle I. Olson

Gayle I. Olson, 65, formerly of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, December 18, 2023, at Accura Healthcare of Shenandoah.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Olaf Cemetery. A visitation will be one hour prior at the funeral home.

Gayle was born May 28, 1958, in Fort Dodge. She is a graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High School. Gayle worked at the Salvation Army kitchen in Fort Dodge and helped several years with the annual bell ringing campaign. With Life Works, she worked at Friendship Haven and Starlite in housekeeping. She was a confirmed member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was active in the church helping with Bible School. She also delivered the Messenger for 15 years.

Gayle is survived by her brother David and wife Paula of Branson West, MO and sister Kay Christensen and husband Bryce of Cedar Rapids, aunt Dorothy Mathwig of Papillion, NE, nephew Anthony Olson and wife Lindsey of Prairie Village, KS, and nephew Michael Olson and wife Danielle of Midland, TX, three great-nephews, and one great niece.

She is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Rosetta (Mathwig) Olson of Fort Dodge and her brother, Dale Olson and his wife Jan (Rader) of Griffin, GA.

Memorials may be left to Mosaic of Western Iowa or Accura Healthcare of Shenandoah, Iowa.
