Gerald Bures

Gerald R. Bures, 68, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 at his home. Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Monday in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be 2:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Gerald is survived by his wife Barb Bures of Fort Dodge, daughters Danielle (Ryan) Kollasch of Bennington, NE, Hillary (Don) Van Horn of Kansas City, MO, Ashley (Andre) Reodica of St. Augustine, FL, and son Tyler (Maria) Bures of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, grandchildren Bailey Kollasch, Austin Kollasch, Allison Van Horn, Adalind Reodica, and Ander Reodica, siblings Mike Bures of Corsica, SD, Patricia (Mike) Kisely of Huron, SD, and Randy (Lisa) Bures of Hiawatha, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Lucille (Arneson) Bures, and sister-in-law Geralyn (Murray) Bures. Gerald Ray Bures was born December 17, 1954 in Wagner, South Dakota. He graduated from Andes High School in 1973. Transportation took him through every bus stop that life had to offer. He worked in the charter bus tourism industry until his retirement in October 2022. As devoted as he was to transportation, he always braked for his life-long passengers: his family. No matter the destination, no matter the miles, he would go the distance for his children and grandchildren. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
