Gertrude Delores Robeson

Gertrude D. Robeson, 79, of Wilton, formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away on February 2, 2016, at her home. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2016 in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Blake Harvey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Dodge. A visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Gertrude is survived by her husband, Roger; children, Connie Harvey of Fort Dodge; Heather (John) Kirchgatter of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Heath (Nicole); Blake (Stephanie); Corey (Callie); Bria (Ben); Miranda; Dayne (Kacey); Klae; Trinity; sister, Valerie Reinholtz of Fort Dodge; adopted family, Kelly Garvin and her children, Taylor; Lexa; and Gunner, all of Wilton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Margaret (McBride) Peed; daughter, Cindy Deimel; brother, Melvin Peed; and sister, Donna Cutting. Gertrude D. Peed was born November 8, 1936 in Fort Dodge and attended schools here, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High. She married Edgar Deimel in 1954, and the couple established their home in Somers. They later divorced. Gertrude was then united in marriage to Roger Robeson in 1971, establishing their home in Fort Dodge. She was employed at Sunny Knoll's Nursing Home, Rockwell City and Margaret's Nursing Home, Fort Dodge as a cook. The couple moved to Wilton in 1987, and Gert worked as a cook at Wilton Nursing Home, later becoming the Dietary Supervisor before retiring in 2002. She enjoyed bowling, going on fishing trips, and tailgating at ISU football games. Gert especially loved her family and their get-togethers on Sundays. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
