Glenda L. Winters, 76, of Spencer, formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Spencer Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 12th in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. John Elkin officiating. Burial will be in Carpenter Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home Glenda is survived by her children Jim (Melissa) Winters of Spencer, Jeff Winters, and John Winters both of Fort Dodge, grandchildren Cassie and Cyle, sisters, Connie (Lee) Good and Mary (Dan) Myers, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Glenn Edward and Gladys Mae (Leohr) Thompson, her husband Thomas Winters in 2002, sisters Lucy Jondle, Janet Luthro, Sally Saathoff and Barb Burke, brother John Thompson. Glenda L. Thompson was born June 23, 1943 in Somers, IA where she was raised and educated. On July 3, 1964 she was united in marriage to Thomas Winters in Jackson, MN. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Glenda worked at Hawkeye Glove Manufacturing, Trinity Regional Hospital with House Keeping and at H&R Block during tax season. She moved from house keeping to Medical Record at Trinity Regional Hospital for nearly 20 years. She moved to Spencer in July 2008. Glenda enjoyed playing Bingo, the Lotto, and surfing the internet especially Facebook. The most important thing in her life was her children and grandchildren. Glenda love to spend time with her family and attending her grandchildren's activities. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
