Gwendolyn Mae (Gwen) Johnson, 83 passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Trinity Regional Medical Center, Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Fulton Lutheran Church, Roelyn with Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in Fulton Lutheran Cemetery, Roelyn. Friends may call after 4:00 PM Tuesday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home, Fort Dodge. Gwen is survived by her husband of 63 years, James L. Johnson; son, James L. Johnson Jr. and his wife Margene of Moorland; daughter, Dr. Kristin Sears-Seiber and her husband Dean of Colleyville, TX; one granddaughter, Jennifer Keen and her husband Don of Plano, TX; brother-in-law, Conrad Johnson and his wife Phyllis of Otteson; sister-in-law, Ruth Cohoon of Sandwhich, IL; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Selmar and Donna Anderson; Victor and Joyce Knudson; and Delbert Cohoon. Gwendolyn Mae Loehr was born to Glen and Dorothy (Johnson) Loehr on May 19, 1929 in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Moorland High School, attended Fort Dodge Community College, Iowa State Teachers College (now UNI) and graduated from the University of Iowa. On August 28, 1949 she was united in marriage to James L. Johnson. She taught science at Northwest Webster School in Barnum for over 25 years. Her family, faith, and church were most important to her. Memorials may be left at the family discretion.
