Harold Fick

Harold H. Fick 92, of rural Callender, Iowa, passed away December 11, 2024 at his home near Callender.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. There will be a visitation on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Laufersweiler Palmer & Sons Funeral Home in Gowrie.

Harold is survived by sons, Bruce VanKooten of Goodyear, AZ, Brian (Karen) VanKooten of Ankeny, and Brad VanKooten of Callender, 3 step-grandchildren, 9 step great-grandchildren and 2 step great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Artie, his parents, Herman and Anna (Weifenbach) Fick and two sisters.

Harold H. Fick was born November 23, 1932, at Odebolt, Iowa and graduated from Schleswig High School. Harold was united in marriage to Artie VanZee on May 26, 1961. The couple farmed and lived in the Callender area all their lives. Harold served on the Iowa Soybean Promotion Board from 1974 to 1979 and was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Callender.
