Helen Crannie

Helen L. Crannie, 76, of Fort Dodge, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4th in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Helen is survived by her son, Michael (Betty) Crannie of LaCrosse, WI; granddaughter, Denise of Haltom City, TX; brothers, Ronald Bass of Fort Dodge; and Richard Bass of Stratford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas in 2003; parents, Arthur and Helene (Babbitt) Bass; and brother, Duane. Helen Louise Bass was born August 5, 1939 in Dayton. As a young child, she attended the Maguire Bend Country School before her family moved to Fort Dodge. Helen continued her education in Fort Dodge, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1957. Helen was united in marriage to Thomas A. Crannie in 1959, and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. She was employed for Burch Manufacturing for a period of time and later for Frigidaire for 21 years. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
