Helen E. Blunt, 80, of Fort Dodge, passed away Friday June 28, 2013 at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 1, 2013 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Lyle Hansen officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. The visitation will be 3 to 6 PM today at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Helen is survived by her son, Mark of Fort Dodge; daughter, Laura of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Lorena (Fred) Michalski of Fort Dodge; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mabel (Warburg) Hay; husband, Robert Blunt; daughter, Leah Sigler; great-granddaughter, Alexia Marie Blunt; and a brother, Don Hay. Helen Elizabeth Hay was born July 22, 1932 in Vincent, IA. She attended school in Eagle Grove and graduated from Eagle Grove High school. Helen was united in marriage to Robert Blunt on February 27, 1955 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Helen and Robert owned and operated Woodman Appliance and TV from 1981 to 1989. Helen also was employed at Trinity Regional Medical Center, Leighton Supply, and later, Martin Home Interior. She had many hobbies which included playing cards and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Helen enjoyed embroidering, cross-stitching, and cooking.
