Ira Dean Spencer

Ira Dean (Butch) Spencer, son of Gaylord Spencer and Ione Spencer-Lindeman, was born February 14, 1939 and passed away April 9, 2018 in Rockwell City Iowa at 79 years of age. Memorial Graveside Services will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Rosehill Cemetery, Rockwell City. Mr. Spencer was raised and attended school in Rockwell city. Joining the Telephone company in 1957 as an installer, he was an active union member throughout his career, eventually retiring as the Financial Secretary of IBEW Local 336 having served workers and negotiating labor contracts for 25 years. Preceding him in death were his parents and his half-brother Mark Lindeman of Dysart. He is survived by his sons James Dean, Jeff, and Jonathan Spencer; his daughters-in-law Kari Spencer and Wendy Bagger; grandsons Dean Garret and Devin James Spencer; half-bother Paul Lindeman, and other relatives and friends. Wanda Hollen of Bridgewater Va. is the mother of their sons, former spouse, and friend. Ira Dean Spencer formerly lived in Harrisonburg. He once attended a Grateful Dead concert and was never the same again. Ripple in still water.
