Iva Mae Keiser

Rockwell City Iva Mae Keiser 95, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home, Fort Dodge. Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Emanuel St. John Lutheran Church, Lytton, with Pastor Ben Worley officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at the Church until service time. Burial will be at Garfield Township Cemetery, East of Lytton. Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City is serving the family. Iva Mae is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald; her parents, Severin and Thelma (Berge) Tonderum; sisters, Sylva Heggen and Nathalie Schulze; and brother Ordean Tonderum. Iva Mae Tonderum Keiser was born May 11, 1924 on a farm near Terril, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode. Iva Mae graduated from Bode High School. She then attended and graduated from Waldorf College with a teaching degree. Iva Mae taught schools at Roland, Lake Park, Rolfe, and Armstrong. She furthered her education and graduated from Drake University with a bachelors degree and received her library science degree from Mankato State University. On July 24, 1976 she was united in marriage to Donald Keiser at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Humboldt. The couple enjoyed traveling and wintering in Tucson, Arizona for many years. Donald passed away in 2015. Iva Mae became a resident of Sunny Knoll Care Centre, Rockwell City. She was a member of Emanuel St. John Lutheran Church, Lytton.
