Jacqueline S. Schmieder

Rockwell City Jacqueline "Jackie" S. Schmieder 70, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines. Memorial Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City, with Rev. Dwaine Simonsen officiating. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery, Lehigh at a later date. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27 at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Jackie is survived by her daughter Jenna (Michael) Hanson of Rockwell City; granddaughter Rowan Hanson; stepchildren, Sandy (Becky Hill) Schmieder of Desert Hot Springs, CA, Doug (Candi) Schmieder of Wellman, and David (Sandy) Schmieder of Ft. Dodge; sister Connie Slawson of Lehigh; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Kate (Demitroff) Larson; and brothers, Vern Larson, Dick Larson, and Gary Lee Larson in infancy. Jacqueline Sue Larson Schmieder was born August 15, 1949 at Lehigh, Iowa. She graduated from Prairie Community School in Gowrie, with the Class of 1967. On April 11, 1980 she was united in marriage to Donald "Whitey" Schmieder at Pomeroy. The couple made their home in the Jolley area. Whitey passed away in 1999. In 2014, Jackie moved to Rockwell City. She had worked at various places in the community including Ben Franklin and Duckwalls stores in Rockwell City and Lake City until her retirement to become a fulltime Grandma.
