James M. Bradley, 70, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers and 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Military rites will be provided by the VFW Post 1856. A visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. James is survived by his wife, Diane Bradley of Fort Dodge; children, Jodi (Brian) Altman of Houston, TX; Jason (Jennifer) Bradley of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Madison; Brayden and Haley Altman; and Payton; Ava; and Sophia Bradley; brother, Tom (Susan) Bradley of Fort Dodge and sister, Barb (Dennis) Jones of Coalville. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn (Cory) Bradley and an infant brother, Michael. James Michael Bradley was born March 19, 1948 in Fort Dodge. Jim attended Sacred Heart School and later graduated from Saint Edmond High School in 1966. He enlisted in the United Sates Army in 1968 and served 2 years in Vietnam before receiving his honorable discharge and returning to Fort Dodge. He was employed with Woodruff and Evans Construction for 13 years. On November 26, 1976 he was united in marriage to Diane Kesterson and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. In 1978, he was employed with the US Postal Service and worked until his retirement in 2005. Jim enjoyed playing golf, traveling, reading, family functions and his grandchildren. He was a talented carpenter. He will be truly missed by his loving wife, family and friends. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
