James L Wertz

James Lane Wertz, 52, of Fort Dodge, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation Monday 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and time of sharing 6:00 pm funeral home. Survivors include his son, Anthony Wertz of Fort Dodge; daughter, Breann Wertz of Fort Dodge; stepdaughter, Amanda Gorman (Patrick) of Illinois, and his two grandchildren, Brenley Wertz and Keira Gorman; brothers, Ken and Mike. James was preceded in death by his wife Donna S. (Winter) Wertz, his mother Susan D. Wertz, and his brother Tim Wertz. James Lane Wertz was born on January 21, 1963 in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here. James enjoyed NASCAR races, going to movies, and taking long walks. He especially loved to spend time with his family. James was a friend of Dr. Bob and Bill W. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
