James "Jimmy" Buckley, 35, of Omaha, NE, formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday October 3, 2013 at his home in Omaha. Funeral services will be held on Monday October, 7th at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include his mother, Barb Fontenot and her husband Don of Omaha, NE; father, Patrick Buckley of Fort Dodge, IA; brother, Joe Buckley and his wife Katie of Omaha, NE; grandmothers, Mary Buckley and Joyce Heddinger both of Fort Dodge, Iowa; step-sister, Kellie Flynn and her husband Jamie of Broussard, LA; step-brother, Kerry Fontenot and his wife Katie of Crown Point, IN; nieces, Abbie and Alicia Flynn; nephew, Kaleb Fontenot; God Son, Jonathan Bedel; and a host aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Eugene Buckley and Dale Heddinger. James Patrick Buckley was born on June 26, 1978 in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and later moved to Omaha in 1995. He graduated from Roncalli Catholic High School in 1996. Jimmy "Buckshot" was the team manager for the Crimson Pride team that won the State Basketball Title in 1996. At his high school graduation Jimmy received the "Bull Dog" award from the U.S. Marine Corps. Jimmy was an avid fisherman with multiple Master Angler Awards from the Midwest. He enjoyed video games, the Superman and Jaws movies, and was an Atlanta Braves Fan and Pittsburg Steelers Fan. Jimmy was a son, brother, grandson, uncle, God father, nephew, cousin and friend to many but belonged to them all. Memorials may be left to Community Christian Schools in Fort Dodge or to Roncalli Catholic School in Omaha.
