Jane Grace Smith

Jane G. Smith 94, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17th, in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Survivors include her daughter Joan (Francis) Paterson of Fort Dodge; granddaughters, Nancy (Duane) Johnson of Waterford, WI; Sandy (Steve) Richardson and Janey (Mark) Marvin both of Fort Dodge; 6 great grandchildren, and 7 great -great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Orville in 1991; 2 brothers; a sister, and a grandson. Jane Grace Ver Huel was born in Monroe, IA, on October 29, 1918, to Neal and Grace (Bauer) Ver Huel. She spent her childhood in Des Moines. Jane graduated from East High School in 1936. In 1943, she married Orville Smith and they made their home in Fort Dodge and later in Otho. She was employed at Lazy Ikes for 18 years. Jane was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. In her later years she loved spending her winters in Mission, TX. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
