Janet Glee Doster, 80, of Moorland passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 17th at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 16th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. The services will be livestreamed via the St. Paul Lutheran Church Facebook page. Janet was born on January 5, 1941, in Lake City to Albert and Irene Schroeder. She graduated as Valedictorian from Moorland High School in 1959. Janet received her Associates Degree from Concordia College in Seward, NE, and then taught for several years. On July 7, 1962 she was united in marriage to Roger Doster. For 2 years, the couple lived in California and then several years in Fort Dodge. In 1967, Roger and Janet built their home in Moorland where they raised their 4 children, Douglas, Angela, David, and Daniel. Janet was a dedicated wife, mother, and faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since the 1960's. She participated in L.W.M.L. and Women of St. Paul as well as a prayer group and Caring Cards Ministry. Jan enjoyed her job as an Optician at Central Iowa Eyecare for 20 years, helping her community and being a valued and faithful employee. She retired in March of 2020 and enjoyed gardening and quilting with her longtime quilting group. Her life was centered on her faith in Jesus Christ, her love for her friends, family, and care for others. Jan was beautiful, both inside and out. She exemplified what scripture instructs about putting others before ourselves. Jan left a legacy that will not fade and an inheritance that will echo through future generations. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Irene Schroeder, brother Roger Schroeder, and sister Joyce Youse. Survivors include her husband Roger of Moorland, son Doug and his wife, Sherry, of Wildwood, MO, daughter Angela Ihnen and her husband, Larry, of Cedar Rapids, son David and his wife Theresa of Fort Dodge, and son Dan and his wife Tawnya of Fort Dodge.
