Janet M. Friesth, 77, of Fort Dodge, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2014 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Rev. John Sersland officiating. Burial will follow at North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Janet is survived by her son, Steven (Julie) of Fort Dodge; daughters, Jeanine Lowry (Matt) of Somers and Terry Friesth of Eagle Grove; grandchildren, Laurie and Jamie Friesth of the St. Paul, MN area; Tyler, Tanner, Taylor, and Tatum Friesth of Fort Dodge; Libbie, Dalton, and Sidney Lowry of Somers; Dominic Duvall of Eagle Grove; great grandchildren, Zoe and Abel; sisters, Millie Carter of Fort Dodge; Maurine Zuba (Steve) of Temecula, CA; and Doris Friesth (Keith) of Fort Dodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Frieda Davis; and husband, Darrel Friesth in 2012; son, Scott Friesth; granddaughter, Nicole Friesth and brother, Ronald Davis. Janet Mae Davis was born November 16, 1937 in Fort Dodge. She graduated high school in Fort Dodge, attended some college, and received her real estate license. Jan was united in marriage to Darrel Friesth on February 14, 1956 in Fort Dodge at the First United Methodist Church. She was a Realtor-Sales person for Guthrie and Associates, and then became a Commodity Accounting Clerk at Land-O Lakes for 22 years; Jan retired in December 2002. Jan and Darrel were foster parents, members of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, and she was part of the landlord association. Jan was a member of the Red Hats Association and the China Painters Association. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
