December 8, 1961 — January 7, 2022

Jay Richman, 60, of Fort Dodge passed away Friday, January 7th at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Holy Trinity Church with Rev. Brian Feller officiating. Burial will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the US Army Honor Guard and the VFW Post 1856. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 PM Monday at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Jay was born December 8,1961 in Fort Dodge. He attended and graduated from Prairie Community High School in 1981. Jay enlisted in the Army and served for 10 years. Most of his years he was stationed in Germany. After his honorable discharge, Jay came back to Fort Dodge. He was a partner in Richman Gutter Service with his brother Jerry for almost 20 years. He was working for Fed Ex at the time of his death. Jay loved to spend time with his family and friends, whether it was catching a ball game, or just getting together to spend time with his grandkids. You could find him on the weekends at his grandkids' homes playing games, watching movies, and just enjoying watching them grow. Jay always had a kind smile and a heart of gold. Jay was a big sports fan and loved the lowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs. Jay will be greatly missed by everyone. Jay is survived by his mother Dona Richman, father Bill (Gail) Richman, daughter Jessica Sanders, siblings Jim (Laura) Richman, Jerry (Nancy) Richman, Justin (Fiona) Richman, Terry (Barb) Wingerson, Tracy Wingerson, Tami (Bob) Coiner, sister-in-law Pati Richman, and his grandkids Seth, Jiselle, Memphis, Wyatt, Ella, Lila, and Walker and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son James Donahe and his brother Joel Richman.
