Jean A. Grebner, 85, of Humboldt passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
Services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 204 at Laufersweiler Funeral Home, Fort Dodge. A time for visiting will be one hour prior at the funeral home. Private family burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Renwick.
Jean is survived by her children Mike (Lori) Grebner of Parkston, SD, Deb Krause of Eagle Grove, Cindy (Scott) Barrick of Humboldt, Lisa (Jim) Harvey of Eagle Grove, nine grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clark and Viola (Babcock) Kiley, husband Vernon in 2018, siblings Glen Bud” Kiley, Edith Pohlman, Wayne Kiley, and Leo Kiley.
Jean Ann Kiley was born September 4, 1938, in Minnesota. She graduated from Renwick High School in 1956. Jean was united in marriage to Vernon Grebner on September 21, 1957, and the couple made their home in Renwick. Jean notably worked at the Renwick School as a cook, waitressed at the Entertainer in Thor and worked at Dodger Manufacturing in Eagle Grove. She retired as a dispatcher from Asgrow, now known as Monsanto.
Jean loved the outdoors and horses. She and Vernon attended many rodeos, enjoyed trail riding, camping, and working in their vegetable garden. Jean’s precious time spent with her grandchildren was spent baking the best Kringle and chocolate chip bars, letting the girls play with her makeup, sharing her love of horses, and making countless memories.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
