Jean Ann Miller

Jean A. Miller, 75 of Duncombe, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at her home.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with a Prayer service at 7:00 pm all at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. A Celebration of Jean’s life will be on Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the V.F.W. Post 1856 in Fort Dodge.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years Mike of Duncombe, son Shawn (Lori Peterson) Miller of Webster City, daughter Shelley (Jack) Bair of Duncombe, granddaughter Paige Bair of Duncombe, and her mother Alta Peterson of Fort Dodge.

She was preceded in death by her dad Arthur Peterson, grandson Bret Miller, brothers Harold and James Peterson.

Jean Ann Peterson was born on January 12, 1949, in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Eagle Grove and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1967. On December 24, 1967, she was united in marriage to Mike Miller and the couple made their home in Webster City. For several years Jean worked at Frigidaire in Webster City. In 1988, the couple moved to Duncombe where they owned and operated the Duncombe Gas and Grocery Store until they retired in 2000. Jean enjoyed thrift shopping and selling, listening to Elvis and watching the Golden Girls. She was a very selfless person and always put the needs of others before herself. Jean would often write poetry, mostly about her family and how much she loved them. She was simply the best wife, mother, grandmother, daughter anyone could ask for. Jean will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
