Jean M. Selhaver, 78, of Fort Dodge passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 at the Marian Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 1, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Dan Jensen officiating. Burial will follow in Carpenter Cemetery. A visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Jean is survived by her siblings Robert Selhaver, Russell Selhaver, and Betty Markley; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Edith (Cook) Selhaver and siblings Richard Selhaver, Doris Graffunder, Lucille Ramirez and Curt Selhaver. Jean Marie Selhaver was born May 24, 1944 in Fort Dodge. She attended Fort Dodge schools and in 1965 she moved to Illinois and worked as a nurse's aid. In 1974, she returned to Fort Dodge and worked at Central Lab for over 17 years. In 1995 she began working at Friendship Haven as a nurse's aid. Jean enjoyed serving on committees at the church and playing BINGO and casino games. She loved fishing, cooking, baking and sold Tupperware for many years. She took her nieces and nephews under her wing and loved them like they were her own. She had a heart of gold and would give anyone her last dollar. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
