Jennifer "Jennie" Riesberg, 42, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Patrick Behm officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Survivors include her parents, Bob and Marian Riesberg of Fort Dodge; grandmother, Leona Riesberg of Halbur, IA; sisters, Cherri (Jason) McKenney and their children, Noelle Olmstead and Logan McKenney all of Somers, IA; Connie (Jason) Gruver and their children, Jacob Sande, Emma, Isabel, Owen, Elizabeth, Mary Ella, Oliver, and Adelaide Gruver all of Fort Dodge; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; one great niece, Avina Sande. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Irvin Riesberg, grandparents, Harlan "Bud" and Loretta Worster; aunt, Carol Husske; uncle, Jack Worster; and her cousins, Tracy Riesberg, Ryan Handlos, and Kevin Leith. Jennifer Diane Riesberg was born on April 7, 1976 in Des Moines. As an infant the family moved from Altoona to Fort Dodge. Jennie attended schools here and graduated in 1994 from St. Edmond High School. Following graduation, she worked at various retail jobs and child care services. Jennie worked at Party Productions for several years and had most recently been the Director of the Lord's Cupboard at First United Methodist Church. Along with her sister Connie, she was also very involved with the Girls Scouts. Jennie made several missionary trips to New Orleans and to the Appalachian area. The last 4 years she had also been going through the discernment with the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. Jennie loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
