Jessie Lucille Tonhouse

On February 24, 2013, Jessie Lucille Tonhouse passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa surrounded by her family. A Visitation will be on Saturday, March 2nd at the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with a Graveside service to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials and condolences can be directed to the family through Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Jessie was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on April 14, 1919. She married the love of her life Leonard Frank Tonhouse on November 17, 1942. Her family operated a trucking business in addition to a farm six miles north and one mile east of Duncombe, Iowa. Jessie later worked at the Fort Dodge Laboratories and retired with more than thirty years of service. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, her parents, Flavius (Ted) and Josephine Victoria (Alma) Essig, and her brothers Theodore Frank (Margaret), Jimmy Dean (Sandy), and Dwayne Richard. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her son, Gary Dwayne Tonhouse (Marian Ryan) of Ankeny, and grandchildren Jackie of Ankeny, IA. And Gary Tonhouse of St. Louis MO. Jessie is also survived by her sister in law Sandy Essig of Tucson, AZ, as well as nieces and nephews, Cindy, Ted, Eric, and Kristen as well grand nieces and nephews of Arizona and Nebraska.
