Jessie M. Mohr, 90, of Gowrie, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Greene County Medical Center Long Term Care in Jefferson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 17th at 10:30 AM at United Methodist Church in Gowrie with Rev. Susan Rohden officiating. Burial will be at Gowrie Township Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at United Methodist Church in Gowrie. Palmer and Sons Funeral Home is serving the family. Survivors include children Lora Smalley and her husband Dennis of Jefferson, Jerry Mohr and his wife Donna of Gowrie, Steve Mohr and his wife Ruthann of Gowrie, Catherine Pardos of Golden, CO and Dick Mohr and his wife Kelly of Kansas City, MO, grandchildren, Debra (Craig) Ott, Danille (Kent) Curtis, Darcy Smalley, Deonne (Brad) Robey, Jason Mohr, Corey Mohr, Jodi Mohr, Kristin (Chris) Behrens, Korryn (Justin) Johnson, Kyla (Brady) Dixon, Christine Pardos, Jessica Pardos, Nicholas (Taylor) Mohr, Christopher Mohr, and Amanda Mohr, great grandchildren Logan, Lucas and Landon Pontius, Hannah and Grace Curtis, Keenan and Carter Ferry, Kale George, Lennox Mohr, Cordero, Maggie and Loren Reed, Russell, Karlynn, and Kaylee Behrens, Connor and Chloe Johnson, Madison and Colton Mohr, great great grandchild Scarlett Reed; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Lena (Duffield) Saville, husband of 62 years Fred in 2009, 4 brothers, her twin John, Ronnie, Charles and Rudy Saville. Jessie Mae Saville was born on February 2, 1930 in Brooks, IA. She was educated in rural Ringgold County and graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1948. In 1949, she was united in marriage to Alfred "Fred" Mohr in Mount Ayr, Iowa at the Methodist Church. They made their home in rural Tingley before moving to Fort Dodge in 1954 and then to the Callender area in 1956. The family lived in Fremont until 1988 when they moved to their home in Gowrie. Jessie was very active in her church and community. She served 2 terms on the Fremont City Council, leader of the Youth Group at the United Methodist Church, sang in the church choir and was a member of the Rural Womens Chorus. Jessie also taught Sunday school and helped with Bible school. She was 4-H leader for several years and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Jessie was the editor of the Fremont Gazette for 10 years and past president United Methodist Women in Gowrie. Jessie was also a member of the Red Hat Club. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. SERVICES Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 17th at 10:30 AM at United Methodist Church in Gowrie with Rev.
