JoHannah "Josie" Payne-Isleib

November 22, 1975 — October 17, 2024

JoHannah Elizabeth (Josie) Payne Isleib, 48, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, following a sudden illness.

A Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 27th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.

Survivors include her mom Judy Payne, brother Jonathan Payne and sister-in-law Erin Payne, aunts JoAnne Pliner, Betty Hanson, Jeanette Sollie and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded by her dad Jerry Payne and her uncle Dennis Payne.

JoHannah was born on November 22, 1975, in Fort Dodge. Jos graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1994. She furthered her education at the University of Iowa and graduated with her BSN in 2002. She was married to Jack Isleib. The couple were divorced in 2018 but remained close friends. For many years Josie took joy in her career as a labor and delivery nurse in eastern Iowa. Jos moved back to Fort Dodge in 2018, and worked various medical jobs until her back issues made it impossible to work. She had spine surgeries in August of 2022 and since that time had mobility issues and debilitating pain. Despite her health problems, she never lost her sweet, ridiculously funny personality, happy attitude and was working hard in physical therapy trying to get back to being able to share her outstanding compassion and love to her patients.

Friends of the family Darrin and Kandi Fullerton have created a GoFundMe for those who want to contribute to help with expenses.
