John Ayala

John Ayala, 82, of Fort Dodge passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2017 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. A visitation will be 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. John is survived by his wife, Susie; children, Debbie (Jeff) Estlund of Davenport; John R. Ayala Jr.; Dana (Paula) Ayala; Gregory (Lori) Ayala; Anita (Dave) Harris; Ronald (Sherlyn) Ayala; Karen Byrne all of Fort Dodge; step-children, Jerry (Rae) Niemeyer of Lanyon; Terry (Lori) Niemeyer of Conrad; Tina (Jerry) Cooper of Humboldt; Annette (Sean) Walker of Fort Dodge; 63 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sisters, Beatrice (Eddie) Wilson of Waterloo; Margaret (Jim) Hall of Boone and little best friend, Scooby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Leanor (Ramos) Ayala; brother, Joie; sisters, Mary Wilson; Angile Bulch; and Lupe Ayala and son-in-law, Ed Byrne. John Ayala was born December 4, 1934 in Fort Dodge. He attended Fort Dodge schools. John was united in marriage to Evelyn McGough in 1955. They established their home in Fort Dodge and raised their children. The couple later divorced. For 16 years, John worked for the Southern Rail Road Company in Fort Dodge and Des Moines. He then worked for Avco-New Idea from 1968 until they closed in 1973. He worked construction and then retired from Shopper Supply (Bomgaars). In 1995, John was united in marriage to Susie Niemeyer at Holy Rosary Church. John was a member of Holy Trinity Parish. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
