John D. Holder, 89, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society in Manson. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 6th at Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Beulah (Johnson) Holder, daughter Julie D. Holder in 2021, and his wife JoAnn Holder in 2013, half sister Dorothy Edwards. John D. Holder was born on March 15, 1934, in Corydon, IA, to John and Beulah Holder. He was raised and educated in Corydon. John enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in the 1st Battalion 1st Regiment from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1958. He was united in marriage to JoAnn Frank on September 5, 1959. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. John was employed with RUAN Trucking for a number of years. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
