John Winters

John T. Winters, 51, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. A Celebration of John's life will be held on Saturday, November 6th at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler Funeral Home with the Rev. John Elkin officiating. Burial will follow at Carpenter Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home. The family request that everyone who attends to please where their favorite Iowa Hawkeye attire. Survivors include his brothers Jim (Melissa) Winters of Spencer, Jeff (Brenda Utsch-Anderson) Winters of Fairmont, MN, niece Cassie (Wade Wille) Winters, nephew Cyle Winters, and numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Glenda (Thompson) Winters. John Thomas Winters was born on October 24, 1970 in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1989. While still in high school John went to work at Fareway Grocery until 2018. John was an avid reader and enjoyed watching sports. He was an Iowa Hawkeye and Denver Broncos fan. John loved time spent with his family, especially his niece and nephew Cassie and Cyle. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
