Johnnie B. "Jody" Mosley, 73, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at his home surrounded by family. Funeral services are 1:30 pm Friday, May 15, 2015 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, May 14, 2015 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Johnnie is survived by his lifelong companion, Dorothy Mosley of Fort Dodge; daughters, Joy Mosley of Plymouth, MN; Sherri Mosley-Wallace of Mississippi; grandchildren, Jordan Church and Zoey Mosley of Washington D.C; siblings, Early B. (Sophie) Mosley of Mississippi; Ned Mosley of Brooklyn, NY; Mattie (Isiah) Seal-Hill of Fort Dodge; Bessie Carr of St. Paul, MN; Katie Mae McLenton of Mississippi; JoAnn Parker of Ohio and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Early B. Sr. and Alice Grace Mosley; brothers, Robert Lee Mosley, Willie Lee Mosley, and Edward Mosley. Johnnie B. Mosley was born February 3, 1942 in Lauderdale, Mississippi. He moved to Fort Dodge in the 1960s, where he began working for Kalo Brick & Tile and US Gypsum. Upon leaving US Gypsum, he began working for Iowa Central Industries and was known as the "Can-Man", due to his recycling routes throughout Webster County. He retired after 34 years of service from Iowa Central Industries, now known as Life Works. He committed his life to working with adults with mental and physical disabilities. Johnnie loved fishing, jazz music, playing pool, sports and spending time with family and friends. He was known for his smile, gentle spirit, and compassion for others. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
