Rockwell City Joleen A. Ruth 77, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at her home at Sunnyview Independent Living, Rockwell City. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Rockwell City, with Fr. Lynn Bruch officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday with a rosary at 4:00 p.m. at Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Joleen is survived by her children, Kim (Jonathan) Tyma of West Des Moines, Jill (Dino) Costanzo of West Des Moines, and Phillip Ruth of Fort Dodge; 4 grandchildren, Trevor Tyma, Morgan Tyma, Cassie Costanzo, and Carson Costanzo; sister Karen (Dennis) Anderson of Decatur, AL; brother Bill (Verna) Grant of Rockwell City; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jo and Dorothea (Blasey) Grant. Joleen A. Grant was born July 25, 1943 at Perry, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Rockwell City where she graduated from Rockwell City High School, with the Class of 1961. On July 14, 1962 she was united in marriage to Sidney Ruth and the couple established their home in Rockwell City. The couple later divorced. Joleen worked for Air Electric Machine Company in Lohrville for 15 years, the Rockwell City Public School System, and Opportunity Living until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
