Jon D. Lundberg was born in Augusta, GA, on November 17, 1954 to Willard and Maxine (Peterson) Lundberg and was raised in the Burnside area. Jon graduated from Central Webster High School in 1973 and attended Iowa Central Community College. He married Jane Byrne in Moorland on November 21, 1975. Jon farmed for several years and held many other jobs. He also worked for Land-O-Lakes for many years. For the past several years, he enjoyed farming for Mike Allard. Jon died October 27, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family. He fought a courageous battle with laryngeal cancer for the last year. He is survived by his wife, Jane; sons, Matt (Brianne) and Christian, Kadyn, Riley of Fort Dodge; Andy (Annie) and Emmalyn of Pensacola, FL; Michael (Ashley) and Mason of Fort Dodge; parents, Willard and Maxine Lundberg of Burnside; brother, David (Carole Ouellette) of Longmont, CO; sister, Beth Lundberg of Fort Dodge; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters and brothers-in-law. Jon loved his family, friends and nature. He enjoyed travelling, fishing, and gardening. Jon could fix or build anything. Thank you to Unity Point Trinity Hospital, Physicians, Unity Point Cancer Center, and Unity Point Hospice for the excellent care Jon received. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Good Counsel Cemetery, Moorland. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to Webster County 4-H, Unity Point Hospice, or the Unity Point Cancer Center.
