Joseph A. Husar, 66, of Fort Dodge passed away on Friday, December 05, 2014. Graveside services will be on Friday, May 15th, 2015 at 1:00 pm at North Lawn Cemetery with Military Rites by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family. Survivors include his siblings, Elsie Stewart of Marshall, MN; Sandy (Darrel) Grossnickle of Mission, TX; Clarence "Dick" (Debbie) Blaha of MN; Robert "Bob" (Lynn) Wilson of Fort Dodge; Billie Ray Wilson of Lehigh; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. Husar Sr.; mother, Rebecca Wilson; step-father, Wilbur Wilson; brother, David Lee Wilson, and sister-in-law, Jeri Fiferlick. Joseph Alexander Husar was born on February 24, 1948 in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. Following his education he served with U.S. Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969. After receiving his honorable discharge he returned to Fort Dodge. In 1970, Joe suffered a massive spinal cord injury that he battled bravely for 43 years. He was very much a people person and was loved by many. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
