Joseph F. Kirby, 63, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Friday, January 25, 2019 at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Patrick Behm officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 pm Thursday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Joseph is survived by his daughters, Tammy Kirby, Brenda (Terry) McDowell, Jody (Chad) Lennon all of Fort Dodge and son Joseph R. (Sondra) Kirby of St. Joseph, MO; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna (Will) Hulett of WI; brother, Tom (Mary Lou) Kirby; and sisters, Terri (Tom) Laufersweiler and Mary Jo Kirby all of Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Leila (Stringer) Kirby; sister, Marlene Lee; and nephew, Michael Lee. Joseph Fredrick Kirby was born February 23, 1955 in Fort Dodge. He attended Fort Dodge Schools. In 1974, he was united in marriage to Barbara Raygor. He began employment with Land O' Lakes until moving his family to the family farm in Vincent. In 1991, he started working for AGP. His career at AGP took him to Eagle Grove, IA, Emmetsburg, IA, Hastings, NE, and Sergeant Bluff, IA where he supervised the construction and operation of the plants. He retired from AGP in 2016 as the Plant Manager in Sergeant Bluff. He returned to Fort Dodge to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing golf, farming, fishing, and hunting. Memorials may be left to family discretion.
