Josephine H. Telfer, 87, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28th at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. all at the funeral home Josephine is survived by her children, Marie Larson of Freemont, NE; Peg Wallner of Council Bluffs; Marilyn Lessmeier; Michael Telfer; Martin Telfer; Mitchell Telfer all of Fort Dodge; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings, Theresa McDonald and Mary Bradley both of Fort Dodge; and Jack (John) Bradley of Humboldt. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth (Fox); husband, Richard; infant son, Richard Joseph; brothers, Edward Bradley; Hugh Bradley; Charles Bradley; sisters, Rose Anderson and Betty Jacobson. Josephine Bradley was born December 19, 1926 north of Clare. She graduated from Gilmore City High School in 1945. She then received her teaching certificate. She taught at Webster County School for two years and one year in Humboldt County. In 1948, Josephine was united in marriage to Richard Telfer at St. John's Catholic Church in Gilmore City. The couple then established their home in Gilmore City. From 1970-1971, Josephine taught at St. John's School in Gilmore City and at Holy Rosary School in Fort Dodge. Josephine and Richard then moved to Fort Dodge. She worked as a teacher's Associate for several years and provided child care in her home from 1974 - 1999. She enjoyed reading and crafts. She also was a member of Holy Trinity Parish. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
