Josephine Monson

Josephine Monson, 85, left for her final resting place, after a sudden illness, Saturday, September 7, 2015 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Private burial will be on Friday at Corpus Christi Cemetery. Josephine was born January 20, 1930 in Fort Dodge to Angelo and Pearl Benegas. She graduated from Corpus Christi Academy. Josephine was united in marriage to Stanley Monson in 1961. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Stanley passed away in 1996. Jo was employed with Globe Union, later Centralab, for over 42 years. After retirement Jo worked for Maid Rite for nine years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and she listened to country music. Jo was a loving people person. She enjoyed playing Bingo but most of all, Jo loved spending time with family and friends. Josephine is survived by her sister, Lucille McCarthy of Kenosha, WI; brothers, Manual Benegas of Brentwood, TN; and Raymond Benegas of Fort Dodge. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
